High Bandwidth Optical Communications
We have developed high bandwidth free space and underwater optical communication systems.
The Neptune underwater optical communications system provides very high data rates and is deployable on a mini-sub or AUV. SCORE, a free space optical communications system, offers very high data rates for communications between satellites, aircraft, UAVs and soldiers on the ground. SAFire, a plug-and-play device for prototyping optical data links, is a low-cost modulated laser system that generates optical signals which are precisely modulated using an RF input.
We are also developing a space-qualified all optical switch that can route optical signals within a satellite with very little loss and zero crosstalk.
