Underwater Optical Communications

Neptune is a high bandwidth, low power, minimal SWaP underwater optical communications system.  Neptune, which can provide the capability to communicate optically at data rates up to 300 Megabits per second, is designed for ships, submarines, autonomous underwater vehicles (AUVs) and fixed undersea data nodes.  This system auto-adjusts data rates, modulation formats and laser wavelengths based on water quality for optimum transmission with minimal power.

We have already demonstrated Neptune in water of varying turbidity.
