Mustafa Veziroglu to Lead SA Photonics’ Communications and Sensing Division

Press Release

Mustafa Veziroglu to Lead SA Photonics’ Communications and Sensing Division

July 15, 2019

LOS GATOS, Calif.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–SA Photonics, the leader in free space optical (FSO) communications for terrestrial, airborne and space applications, is pleased to announce that Mr. Mustafa Veziroglu has been promoted to the role of Vice President and General Manager for the Communications and Sensing (C&S) division in April. Formerly acting as the Vice President of Corporate Business Operations, Veziroglu is now running all C&S programs, with product ranges including FSO communications, fiber lasers and optical sensors. Veziroglu will report to President and CEO Jim Coward, who formerly held these responsibilities, thereby allowing the executive team to simultaneously provide a stronger focus on continued company growth and product development.

“Mustafa has a long track record of launching generations of new products to market and successfully growing them into billion dollar solutions,” said Coward. “Under his leadership of our C&S division, we will transition our focus to commercializing world leading solutions in FSO communications for commercial and military applications.”

Within his new role, Veziroglu will spearhead SA Photonics’ commercialization efforts of its vast array of patented technologies in fiber lasers and optical communications.

“SA Photonics has a very strong base of proprietary and patented technologies, and I’m excited to help our products realize their full market potential,” says Veziroglu. “Many of the products we’ve developed are now poised to enter the global marketplace, providing critical solutions to several military and commercial spaces. I’m confident this strong commercialization effort we’re undertaking will position SA Photonics at the forefront of the burgeoning FSO communications transformation.”

Veziroglu received his electrical engineering degree from Massachusetts Institute of Technology and MBA from Santa Clara University. He has been with SA Photonics for two years and held executive level positions for over 15 years at Xilinx and Lattice Semi, where he has successfully grown company revenue, profitability and market share.
